Jason Dumitru

I am a highly experienced, empathic, and multi-cultural professional. I am currently a Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist and graduate of the Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northwestern University. I specialize in working with males (adolescent or adult) struggling with a wide range of issues; in particular, identity issues/crises, life transitions, difficulty with relationships, and/or anxiety/depression. I utilize a more direct approach to therapy, similar to coaching, yet explore with clients the underlying therapeutic themes that are fueling their struggles. In addition to my area of specialization, I also enjoy working with couples and families that desire a spiritual focus in their relational growth but find themselves stuck in communication, connection and/or commitment. I take a non-judgmental, yet directive approach to therapy, allowing clients to speak freely and be emotionally vulnerable while providing guidance, discernment and hope. I am also a strategic, innovative, and analytical thinker known for bringing proactive solutions to difficult or high-pressure situations with strong problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal and communication skills. I take pride in working hard, bringing fresh ideas, challenging thinking, and seeking new opportunities to improve.
